Jon Huntsman Sr., father of the Republican primary contender, has denied being the source for Harry Reid’s Romney-baiting accusations that the alleged former Governor of Massachusetts did not pay Federal income tax for ten years. When asked about his supposed involvement by Washington Post columnist Greg Sargent, the plutocrat responded “I have absolutely no knowledge of Bain or Mitt Romney’s tax returns.”
He continued “Sure, taxes are optional for us rich folks. But as George Romney always said: ‘You should pay your taxes for 10 or 12 years before running for office.’ George was good man. It’s only fair that Mitt Romney shares whatever bull**** he’s hiding in his returns with the American people. Mitt should stop being a *****nozzle and man up.”
Jon Huntsman, Sr. later clarified his statement. “I never meant to imply that rich people don’t pay taxes. That’s supposed to be our little secret.”
Jon Huntsman, Jr. is the only prominent Republican with a serious foreign policy record, a history of bipartisan cooperation, and a willingness to publicly acknowledge climate change. He is not being considered as Romney’s VP.
